Kumawood actor, Sumsum, has admitted that mourners present at Bernard Nyarko’s one-week momorial failed to adhere to the social distancing protocol.
According to the actor, mourners defied the directive by President Akufo-Addo because they had taken in alcohol.
He said that sympathizers were in grief hence they resorted to alcohol, making them unaware of their actions at the time.
“The social distancing order has been defied because some people are in grief and they have resorted to the intake of alcohol”, he said in Twi in an interview with Ghanaweb.
Family and friends observed the one-week passing of the late actor on May 9, 2020.
The event was held at his family house at Ashaley Botwe-Lakeside near the police station.
Bernard Nyarko died on May 2, 2020 after battling Colon Cancer.
Perosonalities such as Nana Ama McBrown, Christiana Awuni, Vivian Jill, Salinko, Sunsum and many others were seen defying the social distancing protocol.
The police ensured that only 25 people entered the building at a time but others were seen chatting and grieving without heeding to the social distancing.
