Obrempong Owusu Koko II, Odikro of Abura Dunkwa in the Abura-Asebu-Kwamankese District, Central Region, has urged residents and stakeholders to provide additional financial support for constructing a befitting Chief’s Palace reflecting Aburaman’s heritage.
He made the appeal during the celebration of the Odumkwaa Festival, held under the theme: “Together We Rise; A Festival for Development and Culture.”
The Odikro emphasized the need for sustained support to build a palace that reflects the rich history of Aburaman. He also urged parents and guardians to uphold their responsibilities towards their children and wards.
He advised students to remain focused on their studies and avoid negative behaviours such as smoking, excessive alcohol consumption, watching pornographic films, and teenage pregnancies.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Felix Kwakye Ofosu, Member of Parliament (MP) for AAK, reaffirmed the government’s commitment to ensuring that the district receives its fair share of national resources.
He highlighted ongoing projects, including the construction of Abura Dunkwa town roads, which is expected to be completed within 12 months, the equipping of the District Hospital with state-of-the-art facilities, and the upgrading of Abura Dunkwa market.
The MP also assured Aburaman Senior High School that it would receive a bus when the national distribution of school buses commences. He donated GH¢60,000.00 towards the festival celebration.
