Okyenhene celebrates 20th anniversary of his reign

The Okyenhene, Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori-Panin, has celebrated the 20th Anniversary of his ascension to the Ofori-Panin Stool at a ceremony held in Kyebi in the Eastern Region.

The grand durbar which was launched in September, came off on Saturday 14th December 2019.

On October 4, 1999, the Okyenhene was enstooled as the 35th Chief of Akyem Abuakwa to succeed his late brother, Osagyefo Kuntunkunuku and 20 years down the line, he is one of the most revered traditional leaders in the country.

Several prominent political figures were in attendance at the event including the president Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo, his vice Bawumia, former president Rawlings and his wife Nana Konadu.

Other traditional chiefs as well as clergymen were also present at the grand durbar.
