I am a man in my thirties. A friend introduced me to a lady with the intention that we might build something meaningful. After chatting for a few weeks, we agreed to meet in person.
On the morning of the meeting, she asked me to pay her Bolt fare of GHS 24 before she set off. I was surprised. I wondered why I should pay for her transport to come and meet me, especially when I would also be paying for the meal and drinks.
After some back and forth, I decided to cancel the meeting and end our communication altogether. To me, it felt like a red flag. If someone cannot handle such a small expense to meet a person they hope to build a future with, I question what they would contribute to the relationship in the long run.
My view is simple: when you see signs like this early on, do not ignore them. It may save you time and frustration later.
