Mrs Gifty Mensah Ibrahim, a philanthropist, has donated some items and drugs to the Banda-Ahenkro Health Centre in the Bono Region.

They comprised 12 mattresses, quantities of bed sheets and curtains, and boxes of paracetamol syrup and some vitamins.

Speaking at a ceremony at Banda-Ahenkro, the capital of the Banda District, Mrs Ibarhim, also the wife of Mr Ahmed Ibrahim, the Minister of Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, urged the facility to take good care of the items.

“During my previous visit, I realized that the facility lacks several basic supplies and that motivated me to solicit support to help tackle the problem,” she explained.

Mrs Ibrahim pledged her dedication to help equip the facility with modern medical devices and to promote quality healthcare service in the area, and thereby enhance the health status of the people.

Mr Jonathan Owusu, a Senior Physician Assistant at the Banda-Ahenkro Health Centre, thanked the donor for the kindness, saying the items would help enhance service delivery.

He noted that some patients on admission experienced waste pains due to the poor condition of the mattresses, saying many of the wards also lacked curtains, and that compromised patient privacy during medical procedures.
