Police arrest five suspects in Nkaseim robbery

The Ghana Police Service has arrested five suspects following a major armed robbery operation that targeted multiple locations in Nkaseim, Ahafo Region, in December 2025.

The incident occurred on 2nd December 2025, when a gang of armed men blocked the Goaso-Tepa highway.

They then launched simultaneous attacks on the Nkaseim Police Station, the Adwumapa Cocoa Buying Company, the Kobby Gold Buying Company, and the Asutifi Rural Bank.

During the brazen assault, the robbers seized two AK-47 rifles from the police station.

They also stole an unspecified amount of cash from the bank, Fourteen Thousand Ghana Cedis (GHC 14,000.00) from the cocoa buying company, and Twelve Thousand Ghana Cedis (GHC 12,000.00) from the gold buying company.

An employee of Adwumapa Cocoa Buying Company was shot and injured.

Through intelligence-led operations and forensic analysis, the Anti-Armed Robbery Unit made the first arrest on 16th January 2026.

Mutar Kofi, 35, a commercial tricycle rider, was apprehended at “Ata ne Ata” near Nkaseim and admitted to involvement.

Subsequent investigations led to the arrests of Mahamadu Sagio, 45, at Nkaseim, Shaibu Issah Jallo (alias Jibo), 28, at Chereponi, Abdul Suleman, 40, at Tanga near Karaga in the Northern Region and Bukari Sulley (alias Tailor), 25, a trader at Alaba, Kumasi, on 25th January 2026.

Police are actively pursuing three other suspects: Dauda, Mohammed Ali, and the alleged gang leader, Hoyeefi. Hoyeefi is believed to have the stolen rifles and other firearms used in the attack.

The Service has assured the public that intensified efforts are underway to apprehend the remaining suspects and bring them to justice.
