The Upper West Regional Police Command has engaged key stakeholders to share security plans and preparations for the upcoming Ghana Bar Association (GBA) conference in the region.
The initiative aims to ensure a peaceful and successful conference of the Association.
The stakeholders included chiefs, religious leaders among others to put efforts in place to ensure the safety of attendees.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) Darko Offei Lomotey, who addressed the gathering, disclosed that the command had deployed patrol and exco teams to strategic locations, including entrances and exits in Wa, to provide holistic security throughout the region.
He assured attendees of adequate security measures, urging residents to cooperate with the police and report any suspicious activities.
“The police command’s proactive approach underscores its commitment to maintaining law and order during the conference. By engaging stakeholders and bolstering security, the command aims to create a safe environment for participants and residents,” DCOP Darko said.
The GBA’s 29th Annual General Conference on the theme: “Sustaining the 4th Republican Constitutional Democracy: The Role of the Judiciary and the Legal Profession,” is scheduled for September 14-19, 2025, in Wa.
