A director for Creative Arts at the National Commission on Culture, Socrate Safo, has rubbished claim that Samini was paid to endorse the candidature of President Akufo-Addo.
Member of Parliament for Prampram, Sam Nartey George in a Facebook post implied Samini was given GH¢500,000 to produce the song ‘Kpoyaka’.
The artiste in a series of tweets on November 2, 2020, declared his support for the president of the republic and went ahead to release a song to that effect.
The new song resounds the many good works of the president and urges electorates to make the right choice of choosing him.
Speaking on a yet-to-be-released interview on Accra-based GhOne TV, Socrate Safo said the NPP does not pay celebrities for endorsement.
The New Patriotic Party member stressed that the singer was not paid even penny.
“NPP doesn’t pay artists to do things for them. For the records, Samini has not been paid any dime to do whatever,” he said.
Samini is yet to confirm if indeed he recorded the track without any promise of receiving money.
