Seven people have been killed in an accident that occurred in Asikuma, along the Bia West road.
The fatal collision was between a timber truck and a tricycle on Wednesday, January 7, 2026.
Emergency services, including the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), Police, and Ambulance Services, responded swiftly to a distress call received at 08:55 am.

A GNFS rescue team arrived on site within minutes.
Upon arrival, GNFS personnel led the rescue operation, extricating victims from the wreckage in coordination with police and medical teams.
The crash involved a timber truck with registration AS 9304-17 and a tricycle.

Five victims were pronounced dead at the scene. Two others later died from their injuries at Essam Government Hospital.
The bodies of the deceased have been transferred to police custody for autopsy and investigation.
