Radio presenter Kwasi Aboagye has questioned Ras Mubarak’s statement that the alleged GHS2 million Exim Bank deal handed to Shatta Wale doesn’t make economic sense.

Members of Parliament’s Public Accounts Committee (PAC) questioned the basis for which state-owned Exim Bank allegedly paid about ¢2 million to dancehall artiste, Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jr. aka Shatta Wale and others as brand ambassadors.

Ras Mubarak, a member of the Committee said it makes no economic sense for the company to pay such an amount to an artiste to promote made in Ghana goods.

However, Kwasi Aboagye, thinks otherwise and has asked the Kumbungu MP if his grandmother deserves it.

“Spare your breath,” he told Arnold Asamoah-Baidoo, a pundit who was eager to justify why Shatta Wale truly deserved the amount.

“Don’t waste your time. Why doesn’t he deserve it? So to speak, does your grandmother rather deserve it?”, Kwasi Aboagye quizzed.

Meanwhile, Shatta Wale’s manager, Bulldog, has declined to confirm or deny if indeed his artist was given GHS2 million for the Exim Bank deal.
