Ghanaian artiste Shatta Wale has presented items reportedly worth GHC150,000 to farmers in Amansie West District in the Ashanti Region.
The singer did this as part of efforts to celebrate farmers on Ghana’s 35th Farmers’ Day Celebration.
Shatta Wale handed the items to the District Chief Executive of the Amansie West District Assembly, Hon. Nii Larteh Ollenu as prize package for all winning farmers in the district.
Charles Nii Armah Mensah popularly known as Shatta Wale was a Guest of Honour at the Farmers’ Day Celebration in the district held at Big Park Hotel in Mpatuam.
Shatta Wale was full of praises for farmers across the country for their tireless efforts in feeding the nation.
He asked the country to improve on its system of farming so the youth can get employed in the sector.
”As a country, I think it is time we embrace industrial farming which provides a large amount of food at a relatively low cost and hugely contributes to the industrial development of the country. More jobs will be created for the youth and more people which will help solve the unemployment situation in the county”, he stated.
