Six people have lost their lives in a fatal collision between a cement-laden trailer and a commercial passenger bus in the early hours of Wednesday, January 7, 2026.
The crash occurred around 4:00 a.m. along the Offinso–Abofuor highway, specifically between the Sompraso and Awisam sections of the road.
According to authorities, the vehicles involved were a trailer with registration number GN 5326-22 and a passenger bus registered as GT 5509-20.
Multiple passengers sustained critical injuries in the incident. They were transported to St. Patrick’s Hospital in Offinso-Maase for emergency treatment.
The bodies of the deceased have been deposited at the same hospital’s morgue.
Police say an investigation into the cause of the accident is now underway.
