The Greater Accra Regional Police Command has arrested six persons suspected of engaging in land guard activities and possessing firearms.
A police brief said the suspects were arrested following a distress call received on January 10, 2026, at about 1250 hours.
It said police officers who responded to the call encountered a group of about 50 men who were allegedly firing at workers at the scene.
The brief said the police returned fire and pursued the suspects into a nearby bush.
It said six people were arrested out of the group, while others fled.
The police seized one AK-47 rifle with five rounds of ammunition, a Luger T9 pistol with five rounds of ammunition, a Regard MC pistol with 13 rounds of ammunition, and four motorbikes.
The suspects, together with the exhibits, were sent to the Accra Regional Police Headquarters for further investigations.
