Head of Public Relations of the Ghana Armed Forces, Colonel Eric Aggrey Quarshie, has revealed that the soldiers who attended the wedding ceremony of Medikal and Fella Makafui in their uniforms have been arrested.
According to him, these soldiers have been apprehended to assist with investigations.
Colonel Eric Aggrey Quarshie told Ghanaweb that the move was part of measures to maintain sanctity and discipline within the rank and file of the Ghana Armed Forces.
The officer stated that the practice of Military officers in uniform making appearances at private events without approval had become too rampant.
In videos that circulated on social media, these soldiers were seen escorting Medikal to his wedding reception and also offering him security protection on March 7, 2020.
Colonel Eric Aggrey Quarshie stressed that the officers who had been picked up were being investigated and the appropriate sanction or otherwise would be carried out since the practice was illegal.
The P.RO revealed that the soldiers could be either cautioned or dismissed depending on the outcome of the investigations.
