Bice Osei Kufour, popularly known as Obour, has blamed his defeat in the National Patriotic Party’s Parliamentary Primaries on the suspension of ‘some of his delegates’.
Obour believes he did well as a first time contender especially since he was close to winning against someone who is more experienced.
Obour managed 296 votes while Kwaku Asante Boateng, the incumbent MP, won with 364 votes.
Obour stated that the incumbent MP beat him with 64 votes which indicates that he did very well as a beginner but lost because some of his delegates were suspended.
“To me, that is a win and victory because this is my first time in the contest. Some of my delegates were suspended and if they were allowed to vote, hopefully, there would be a different story”, he said.
“Okyeame Kwame came to Juaso and after the election, he said ‘bro you have won’. I knew I won, because, I was into this election and was fighting against an incumbent MP who is slightly more experienced.
“He has the support of the constituency executives, the support of the MCE and all the factors fighting against us but still, he only beat us with 64 votes”, he added.
Obour revealed that he is preparing to win the battle in the next four years.
