Mr Maxwell Kwame Lukutor, Member of Parliament of the South Tongu Constituency, has inspected ongoing road construction works at Gonu and expressed satisfaction with the quality and progress of the project.
The inspection was part of the MP’s monitoring activities aimed at ensuring value for money and timely delivery of infrastructure projects in the constituency.
Mr Lukutor said contractors were optimistic that the first phase of the gravelling works would be completed before the onset of the rainy season to improve accessibility for residents.
During the visit, the MP interacted with residents, including women at the School Feeding kitchen, teachers and pupils of Gonu RC Basic School, who expressed excitement about the ongoing development in the area.
He noted that the road project was expected to ease transportation challenges, enhance economic activities and improve access to social services for the people of Gonu and surrounding communities.
Mr Lukutor also highlighted progress on other development interventions across the constituency, particularly in the communities of Kpevikpo, Tettedziekope and Landzokope, where new access roads had been constructed to improve connectivity.
He said the road works marked the fulfilment of one of the major requests by residents, following the earlier provision of solar street lights, while efforts were underway to address potable water needs as the final component of the development package.
The MP added that concerns relating to the culvert at the Gadco farms would be addressed in due course as part of ongoing efforts to improve infrastructure resilience in the area.
Mr Lukutor reaffirmed his commitment to working with stakeholders to accelerate development and improve living conditions across the constituency.
