Special Life Insurance cover for 10,000 health workers fighting COVID-19

The Ministry of Health has secured insurance for about 10,000 health personnel working to control and curb coronavirus outbreak in Ghana.

Minister of Health, Kwaku Agyemang-Manu announced that Special Life Insurance was providing the package for the health workers.

In a statement released on March 28, the Minister thanked the frontline health workers for their sacrifice.

The benefits include ‘Group Life’, ‘Critical Illness’, ‘Total Temporal Disability – All Causes’, and Total Premium.

Kwaku Agyemang-Manu advised health professionals to take note and have the right documentations to benefit from the packages.

So far, five persons have lost their lives after being infected with the Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Ghana.

Ghana Health Service on Saturday, March 28, 2020 updated it’s website with the new information.

The country has recorded 141 cases of coronavirus in the country since the outbreak of the deadly diasease.

Ghana’s number moved from 137 to 141 on Saturday, March 28, 2020.

An increase in the cases was witnessed after four new cases were confirmed at 1520GMT.

The test showed that one person under mandatory quarantine tested positive among the four while the three other cases were confirmed within the general population.

A lockdown has been imposed by President Akufo-Addo from March 30 till April 13, 2020 in Greater Accra and Ashanti Region.
