Sports Minister lauds Team Ghana for medal haul at ANOCA Zone III Games

Mr Kofi Iddie Adams, the Minister of Sports and Recreation, has praised Team Ghana for its performance at the ANOCA Zone III Games.

The Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC) formally presented the 47-member delegation to the minister after winning 10 medals at the regional competition held in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso.

The team competed in volleyball, handball, taekwondo, and karate-do, having won one gold, four silver, and five bronze medals.

The Sports Minister commended the athletes for their resilience and discipline, describing their performance as a reflection of Ghana’s growing presence in regional sport.

“You have proven yourselves and made the nation proud,” he said. Mr Adams also acknowledged the support of the GOC, technical staff, and the Ghanaian Embassy in Burkina Faso.

The Minister announced plans to build multi-purpose courts in every district and launch a Sports Development Fund aimed at addressing infrastructure and funding challenges.

“The athletes continue to project Ghana’s values globally,” Adams said, reaffirming government support for future competitions.
