Reggae and Dancehall artiste, Stonebwoy, has told critics of his ’40 years’ comment to stop wasting their time.

The singer earlier said that it will take 40 years to produce artistes like himself, Sarkodie and Shatta Wale.

Stonebwoy believes it will take this long for the new crop of Ghanaian artistes to achieve what they have accomplished.

Stonebwoy made this controversial statement during his performance at the 2019 MTN 4Syte Music Video Awards.

The artiste was heavily chastised for making such a claim with many saying that his statement was backed by the devil.

The ‘Kpo K3k3’ hit maker in a new twist has clarified his statement that it will take 40 years for Ghana to produce the three of them.

Stonebwoy in an interview with Da Don on USeyWeytin on Hitz FM said that he mentioned Sarkodie and Shatta Wale to represent the current generation of artistes and not only the three.

“When I say the likes of, I mean the whole squad, including R2bees, E.L, Yaa Pono… I said we need to be protected. Our predecessors were not protected and harnessed and seen as national assets enough… And I believe that if such and such are done for us, the generation that is yet to come will even get it easier. Aside 40 years being biblical, I think that’s the best way I could represent a generation or a squad. It was an imagery of a squad, a session,” he said.

Responding to artiste manager Bullet’s comment that the statement was unnecessary and backed by the devil, Stonebwoy stated that anyone who takes him on is wasting his or her time.

‘I know those who have negative mindset have concluded already. That is their opinion and I respect it but may they not try to push the agenda to the majority neutral minds to try to hate me or break me because if you fight me for a course that is not just, you’re wasting time.’, he asserted.

Stonebwoy wants the generation of artistes to come after him to realize that the current artistes today struggled to put in place the structures that are making the industry vibrant now.
