Popular Ghanaian actor Majid Michel has told his colleagues to stop begging government for money.
Rather, he wants his colleagues to use their creativity and talent to make money from their works.
Majid Michel believes the lack of creativity has negatively affected the industry as a whole and led to a reduction in resources.
In his view, it is wrong to ask government for money to support one’s career.
“We never did that. Before we grew our industry in Ghana, no government official gave us money we had businessmen who were ready to risk and make good stories,” he said.
Majid Michel also disclosed the reduction in the number of productions has caused the decline of the industry.
The actor added that the sector suffered when it turned to digital services.
