Ghanaian TV personality Nana Aba Anamoah has called out the president of Ghana for his comments about Mahama during his visit to the Volta region.
Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo during his visit to the Volta region, failed to speak on his plans to address the concerns of the people in the region.
Instead, he went on about the shortcomings and failures of Mahama, his competitor and and flagbearer for the opposition party NDC.
This action of the president caused the media personality to condemn him and claim that both parties were taking Ghanaians for a ride.
She stated in an interview with GhOne TV’s “News Tonight” that Nana Addo had to tell the people of Volta region his achievements and plans for the region and not what the past government failed to do.
“The President should be telling us exactly how many jobs he has created in the Volta region alone.
“He should be telling us the numbers he’s added on in the Volta region alone. He shouldn’t be reminding us of what John Mahama did or didn’t do, said or hasn’t said, we are not interested in that.
“There are problems in the Volta region. He should be telling us of what he has done to address those problems.
“We don’t want him to be telling us about John Mahama. We already know what John Mahama did and didn’t do, we don’t need him to remind us…” she explained.
The opposition party NDC has also accused the sitting government of running a “friends and family” government contrary to the promise they made during their campaign in 2016.
The NDC went further to release a list of about 50 people who are in one way or the other related to the president and the positions they hold in government.
Reacting to the list and accusations of the NDC, Nana Aba said that the NDC and NPP are playing the same game because that is exactly what the NPP did when NDC was in power.
She then advised Ghanaians to demand more accountability from the government and show the sitting government just how angry the citizens are.
“I think that Ghanaians should wake up and smell the coffee. I think these two political parties are taking us for a ride, they are taking us for granted…they have done it for so long,” she added.
