Tetracore Energy Group commissions Ghana’s first natural gas pipeline facility

Tetracore Energy Group has commissioned Ghana’s first Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) pipeline facility.

The project, developed by its subsidiary Tetracore Gas Ghana, strengthens energy collaboration between Nigeria and Ghana, marking a shift toward cleaner industrial fuel in the region.

The commissioning ceremony was held at the new facility in Tema’s Industrial Area, with President John Dramani Mahama represented by Energy Minister Hon. John Abdulai Jinapor.

The event drew senior officials, diplomats, industry leaders, and community representatives.

The $15 million facility is expected to create 500–600 direct and indirect jobs in Ghana, supporting the country’s move toward more affordable and secure energy.

The project highlights growing energy ties between Nigeria and Ghana, with Nigerian investment and technical expertise playing a key role.

Industry watchers see it as a model for intra-African cooperation to spread clean energy access.

“This facility marks a major step in Ghana’s transition to cleaner, more affordable energy,” Energy Minister Jinapor, said.

“It strengthens our industrial competitiveness and reflects the power of strong public–private partnerships.”
Tetracore has significantly grown its CNG operations in recent years, nearly tripling capacity over the past two years.

The group also operates a 45MMscfd gas distribution hub in Edo State, Nigeria, and a dedicated CNG station at the Dangote Cement Plant in Ibese, which fuels about 100 trucks daily.

Both Nigerian facilities were built and launched within six months, showcasing the group’s rapid execution capability.

With this launch, Tetracore reinforces its vision of powering Africa’s growth through integrated gas infrastructure and strategic partnerships.

The project sets a new benchmark for clean energy investment in West Africa and could inspire similar CNG and gas-to-power projects across the region.
