The government of the Republic of Ghana which is led by his excellency Nana Akuffo Addo, has signed a provisional order for the purchase of three (2) 787-9 Dreamliners with Boeing.
The signing of the agreement which took place on Tuesday during the Airshow in Dubai forms a part of the government’s intentions to launch a national airline.
Honourable Joseph Kofi Adda, the minister of Aviation, signed the deal on behalf of the country.
The government, per agreement will own 10% of the shares in the new airline, with the remaining 90% owned by private investors.
In addition to this, the government has also signed a deal for the purchase and delivery of six Dash8-400 aircraft from De Havilland Aircraft of Canada.
This brings the total number of aircraft the country is expected to take possession of in the near future, to nine (9).
