The Ghana Police Service, through its Anti-Armed Robbery Surveillance Unit, has arrested three suspects in connection with a robbery at Parambo Sewaba, a suburb of Yeji in the Pru East District of the Bono East Region.
The attack occurred on June 1, 2025, when three armed men allegedly assaulted market women traveling from Yeji, making off with cash, mobile phones, and other belongings.
According to the Yeji Divisional Police Commander, Chief Superintendent Asiamah Emmanuel, the suspects had been on police radar for some time.
He revealed that they are believed to be behind a series of robberies targeting traders along the Yeji–Kumasi highway, as well as routes from Yeji to Prang, Parambo, and Abromase.
The suspects, Mohammed Ahmadu (30), Osmanu Abubakar (35), and Sumaila Mohammed (25), have been arraigned before the Atabubu Circuit Court and remanded into police custody for three weeks.
During a search at the residence of Mohammed Ahmadu, police recovered multiple offensive weapons, including six machetes, a motorbike, a tricycle, and three ID cards bearing different names.
Authorities have forwarded details of the motorbike and tricycle to the Techiman DVLA for verification to support ongoing investigations and prosecution.
Chief Superintendent Asiamah Emmanuel issued a stern warning to criminals operating in the area, stating that law enforcement will not tolerate such acts of lawlessness.
