The accused are set to reappear on Thursday, June 4, 2026.

According to prosecutors, police acted on intelligence received on January 20, 2026, about suspicious electronic devices at House Number BE 57 on Celebrity Hills Avenue in Sakumono.

Two days later, officers from the Regional Criminal Investigations Department (CID) Operations Unit, armed with a search warrant from the Adabraka District Court, raided three apartments occupied by the suspects.

Authorities seized 52 SIM boxes, 26 desktop computers, 1,040 assorted mobile phones, numerous unregistered SIM cards, six internet routers, and other electronic devices linked to the alleged fraud.

Investigations revealed that the syndicate intercepted victims’ communications, fraudulently obtained money via mobile money transactions, and converted the proceeds, totaling $700,000 over seven months, into cryptocurrency for transfer abroad.

Two other suspects, Adebowole Pelumi and Michael Taiwo, remain at large.

The accused also reportedly named a Chinese national known only as “Tommy,” believed to be in Singapore, as the operation’s supervisor.

The Cyber Security Authority, which analyzed the seized devices under a court order, confirmed the setup matched patterns of a phone-farming scam centre, the prosecution told the court.
