Transparency International Ghana (TI-Ghana) has organised a training workshop for Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) and media practitioners in Dambai, in the Oti Region, to enhance their understanding of corruption and its gender dimensions.
The workshop aimed to equip participants with the knowledge and tools to promote transparency and accountability at the grassroots level.
The training covered key topics such as “Understanding Corruption” and “Sextortion and Discriminatory Corruption,” and featured interactive sessions and plenary discussions.
Participants included representatives from the District Assembly, GIZ, the European Union, the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) and the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ).
The initiative is part of TI-Ghana’s ongoing efforts to build the capacity of local actors in the fight against corruption.
The organisation says recognises the importance of inclusive approaches that address gender-specific impacts of corruption, such as sextortion and discriminatory practices.
