She was one of the most hardworking, disciplined, and dedicated professionals I have ever known. Her tireless commitment, respect for all, technical brilliance, and gift for connecting with people across backgrounds made possible what many thought unachievable: the building of a hundred-bed, world-class Infectious Diseases Centre in less than 100 days.
Day and night, she labored—not for recognition, but for lives she would never meet, for Ghana her beloved motherland, and for humanity itself. Her service was a testament to courage, sacrifice, and love for country.
Today, my heart is shattered. I am broken and crushed to know she is no longer with us. O Death, your hands are icy, why do you take the best of us? How do we make this world better when the good are so often taken too soon? Though she is gone, her legacy endures.
Squadron Leader Ivy Tetteh fought for Ghana, fought for humanity, and left behind a standard of excellence and devotion that will continue to inspire generations.
So long, brave soldier!
