On this special day, we, the hMensa’s and our affiliates, would like to celebrate our dad, Mr. Martin hMensa’s birthday by paying him this tribute.
You were very firm with us, and even though as young children we didn’t understand why, we have grown up to appreciate that these principles you gave us early, would guide us through the murky waters of this life.
The hMensa, our unique last name gave us and still gives us many troubles but it also taught us early in life not to be afraid of who we were, to speak our minds openly and freely and to always be ready to defend ourselves for what we know to be right.
These along with many other principles have contributed in making us who we are today and for that we are forever grateful.
For all the days you stayed up late after work to teach us algebra and calculus, for the piano and guitar lessons (which some of us have forgotten), for all the health talks and advice, and for being you, we say Ayekoo.
For all the roads you constructed as a civil engineer, for all the other lives you’ve impacted as a lecturer, and for all the discipline you’ve instilled in the lives of many, we congratulate you and praise you for your selfless service and contribution to Ghana.
We are grateful to God for giving you good health and strength and a youthful exuberance even at 71.
You are a shining example of what hardwork and diligence is all about and we salute you, Mr. Martin hMensa. God bless you!
With love, respect and admiration,
Your Children & Grandchildren
