Two people died in a fatal road crash on the Abakam stretch of the Cape Coast–Takoradi Highway early Tuesday morning.
Divisional Officer II Abdul Wasiu Hudu, Public Relations Officer of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) Elmina Fire Station in the Central Region confirmed the tragedy to the Ghana News Agency.

He said the Elmina GNFS office responded to a distress call around 0511 hours about a collision between a Toyota Corolla (GS 2455-25) and a Sprinter bus (WR 316-24).
Quickly, he said a rescue moved to the scene to find the vehicles severely damaged with multiple casualties.

As well, he said 14 injured people had already been transported to the hospital, with four sent to the University of Cape Coast (UCC) Hospital and 10 to Cape Coast Teaching Hospital before firefighters reached the scene.
