Two robbers jailed 17 years each

The Amasaman Circuit Court has sentenced two men to 17 years imprisonment each for their involvement in a robbery attack on two victims at Agbazo, near the Golden Exotic Farm, a suburb of Accra. 

The convicts, Lawrence Fumato, alias Rasta, 28, and Daniel Dzoka, alias Alkaline, 20, pleaded guilty to the charges – Conspiracy to Commit Robbery and Robbery, contrary to Sections 23(1) and 149 of the Criminal Offences Act, 1960 (Act 29). 

The sentences are to run concurrently.

A statement issued and signed by Superintendent Juliana Obeng, Head of Public Affairs, Accra Region, said the two attacked and robbed their victims on November 12, 2025, using a pair of scissors. 

Items stolen included a Royal 150 motorbike, a Samsung mobile phone, a Tecno Spark 8 phone, an itel keypad phone, and GH¢4,000 in cash. 

Following an intelligence-led operation, the suspects were arrested on November 17, 2025, at Agbazo. 

The Accra Regional Police Command commended the community for its continuous cooperation. 

It encouraged the public to support police efforts by reporting criminal activities through the emergency numbers 18555 or 191.
