US delegation receives honorary chieftaincy titles in Gomoa Otapirow

The chief and people of Gomoa Otapirow have bestowed four honorary traditional titles upon visiting Americans, recognizing their humanitarian service and forging a strategic partnership for local development.

The colorful ceremony took place on Sunday, May 24, 2026, honoring the delegation from the United States, which arrived in Ghana on May 23 as part of a global tour focused on cultural exchange, film screenings, and sustainable community initiatives.

The newly installed honorees and their roles include Nana Kofi Abir I (NGOC), Apagyaheme, Ambassador in charge of Operations and Mobilization, Nana Efua Abir I (Jenny), Apagyahemaa, Queenmother and Ambassador for Operations and Mobilization.

The other two are Nana Abena Yeboah I (Pam Phan), Nkosuohemaa, Development Queenmother and Nana Efua Egyirwa I (Emily), Apomudzenhemaa, Queenmother for Health and Wellness.

Community leaders noted that the event was more than a symbolic gesture.

They emphasized that it marks a strategic effort to leverage international networks for youth empowerment, education, healthcare, and entrepreneurship in Gomoa Otapirow and surrounding areas.

Speaking at the event, representatives of the Nana Osome Foundation and Youth Ambassadors in Diplomacy and Model United Nations reaffirmed their commitment to creating leadership opportunities and sustainable development through global engagement.

The ceremony, which featured traditional regalia, drumming, and community participation, concluded with a renewed call for unity under the town’s guiding message: “Together We Build, Together We Prosper.”

The US delegation is scheduled to depart Ghana on Tuesday, May 26.
