Though list of nominees for the 2020 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards is not yet out, Empress Gifty has crowned Celestine Donkor “Gospel Artiste of the Year”.
The gospel singer in an Instagram post named her fellow gospel musician as the artiste who deserves the award the most.
Empress Gifty shared a video of herself and Celestine Donkor at Charterhouse’s 20th anniversary celebration held yesterday at its head office in Accra.
“Live at CharterHouse @20 thanksgiving Breakfast, with my Gospel Artiste of the year 2020 @celestinedonkormusic,” she captioned her post.
Celestine Donkor dominated the gospel music fraternity and charts with her song “Bread of Life” which features youngster, Gideon.
Ahead of the 2020 VGMA nominees announcement, the singer earned five nominations at this year’s 3Music Awards including “Female Act of the Year”, “Best Collaboration of the Year” and “Gospel Artiste of the Year”.
Diana Hamilton picked the ‘Gospel Artiste of the Year’ in 2019 and is likely to get another nomination this year.
