Rapper Maradona Yeboah Adjei popularly known as Guru has once again downplayed the credibility of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA).

According to him, the awards scheme will only be credible when he’s given his due and recognized for his hard work in the industry.

Guru wants organizers to crown him overall ‘Artiste of the Year’.

His comments come shortly after Kuami Eugene was crowned ‘Artiste of the Year’ on Saturday, August 29.

The announcement was met with shock as a number of people did not expect the Lynx Entertainment signee to win.

Many had tipped Kofi Kinaata or Sarkodie to go home with the ultimate prize.

Reacting to the outcome on Twitter, Guru who has been unlucky at several VGMAs, said till he wins, the awards schemes will have no credibility.

“Ghana music award Go be credible the day a go win artist of the year”, he tweeted.
