Ghanaian artist and winner of the 2013 Viasat 1 TV reality show, “Born Stars”, Joseph Nkrumah Buabeng, better known as Nero-X has taken a swipe at reality show organizers in Ghana.

According to Nero X, he, similar to Patience Mensah (of Di Asa fame), never got the opportunity to embark on his trip to the UK, as he had been promised.

He said he was denied the UK visa and the organisers also failed to give him other things included in his prize package.

Nero X, therefore, advised organizers to liaise with the embassies of the countries they would want their winner to travel to, to ensure the travelling process is not hindered in any way.

Speaking in an interview he said, “event organisers must not wait till winners are announced before moving helter-skelter to get visas for winners because if they fail to secure the visas, “a lot of people will blame them and besides, the disappointment that comes with it can affect the winner, psychologically.”

Nero X went on to reveal that, aside from being unable to travel to the UK due to his denial of the visa, Viasat refused to give him the cash price of GH¢10,000 , saying they never promised to give him such.

The Viasat 1 station is however defunct in Ghana, as it was sold out to Kwese TV a few years ago. Kwese TV has also allegedly sold out the majority of its shares to new owners who are yet unknown.

He said, the only items he received from the television station for winning the “Born Stars” was a flat-screen television and packs of Indomie.
