Vivo Energy Ghana partners ATI to boost automotive skills, safety, and entrepreneurship

Vivo Energy Ghana PLC (VEGH) has signed an MoU with the Applied Technology Institute (ATI) to launch a technical apprenticeship under its Mechanic Advocacy Programme, aiming to develop certified automotive professionals.

The partnership will equip young mechanics in the informal sector with structured training blending classroom learning and hands-on experience to boost employability, professionalism, and safety standards.

“I would like to sincerely thank ATI for partnering with us to develop the next generation of skilled professionals,” said Christian Li, Managing Director of Vivo Energy Ghana.

Ing. Emmanuel Kotey Ashie, Principal of ATI, added: “Through this collaboration, students will benefit from practical training and skills aligned with current industry demands.”

Former ATI students now working at Vivo Energy outlets shared how the programme advanced their careers.

Beyond jobs, the initiative supports entrepreneurship, economic empowerment, and community development.

Vivo Energy Ghana, exclusive distributor of Shell-branded fuels and lubricants, has been operating since 2013.

The Shell brand has been in Ghana since 1928.

The company employs over 6,000 people and has access to more than 2 billion litres of fuel storage capacity.
