The Volta Regional Minister, Mr. James Gunu, on Sunday, September 21, celebrated his birthday — which coincided with Founders’ Day-by donating to the Children’s Ward of the Ho Teaching Hospital (HTH).
The donation comprised 50 packs of bottled water, 30 packs of assorted soft drinks, toiletries, and a cash amount of GH¢5,000.
As part of his gesture, the Minister also pledged to cover 50 percent of the treatment cost for four children battling cancer at the facility.
Additionally, he presented GH¢2,000 to nurses in the ward in recognition of their sacrifices and dedication to child healthcare.
Mr. Gunu said the initiative was his way of extending love to the children and their families while acknowledging the tireless commitment of healthcare professionals.
Receiving the items, the Chief Executive Officer of HTH, Dr. Hintermann K.K. Mbroh, expressed appreciation to the Minister for his support, describing the gesture as a source of encouragement to patients, families, and caregivers alike.
“This act of kindness is a meaningful way of giving back and standing in solidarity with these young patients, their families, and the health professionals who serve them tirelessly,” Dr. Mbroh noted.
