Ghanaian music sensation Wendy Shay has etched her name in continental glory after being crowned Best Female Artiste in Western Africa at the prestigious ninth edition of the All-Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA).

The award, which celebrates Africa’s finest musical talents, saw Wendy Shay triumph over a star-studded lineup including Nigeria’s Ayra Starr and Tiwa Savage, Guinea’s Djelykaba Bintou, Côte d’Ivoire’s Josey, Senegal’s Viviane Chidid and Mia Guisse, as well as Ghana’s own Amaarae and Moliy.

Her victory underscores her growing influence in the Afrobeats and Highlife fusion space, especially after the viral success of her “Too Late” single.

Social media erupted with congratulatory messages, with the likes of Shatta Wale celebrating Wendy Shay’s win.

The accolade adds momentum to Wendy Shay’s stellar year, and she could be a strong contender for Artiste of the Year at the upcoming Telecel Ghana Music Awards.
