The Women in the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Professionals Forum, have expressed shock over the passing of former First Lady Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings, describing her death as a great loss to the nation.
A statement signed by Madam Sophia Ama Otabir, Women’s Commissioner for the Forum, paid glowing tribute to the former First Lady, and said she was a pioneering figure in the nation’s politics and a champion for women’s empowerment.
It said she had left an indelible mark on the nation through her tireless advocacy for women’s rights and social justice.
“We extend our heartfelt condolences to her children, Zanetor, Yaa Asantewaa, Amina, and Kimathi, and to the entire family, and pray that they find strength and comfort in the legacy she leaves behind,” the statement said.
The statement also expressed the Forum’s solidarity with the family, the NDC, and the people of Ghana during this difficult time, adding that; “May her courageous spirit and selfless service be a guiding light for all.”
The former First Lady who was the Founder of the 31st December Women’s Movement, passed away on October 23, 2025, at the age of 76.
