A music fan has downplayed rapper Sarkodie’s quest to become president of the Republic of Ghana one day.
Sarkodie, born Michael Owusu Addo, gave fans a hint of his political ambition on Thursday, July 23.
The artist took to his social media pages to ask fans if he should run for president in 2024.
“Presidential candidate 2024 anaa mose?”, he asked.

However, a music fan who commented under Sarkodie’s post on Facebook jabbed the rapper for having a presidential ambition when he could not even manage Strongman.

“Strongman koraa you couldn’t manage na Ghana?’, the fan asked.
Sarkodie signed Strongman in 2017 on his Sarkcess Music label but the two parted ways after just two years.
Several times, Sarkodie has denied being a member of any of the two main political parties in Ghana; NDC and NPP.
He recently complained that the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) constant usage of his song ‘Oofeetso’ is making people tag him as a member of the party.
The rapper has on several occasions commented on political issues in the country and sometimes called out politicians in his songs.
It is however unclear which party Sarkodie will align with should he decide to contest for any political position without going independent.
