Your lives should be purpose-driven – Rev. Torto to Christians

The Right Reverend Dr Daniel Sylvanus Mensah Torto, Bishop of the Anglican Diocese of Accra, Sunday advised Christians to live purpose-driven lives rooted in faith and the Word of God.

He said a purpose-driven life is one guided by the Word of the Lord and faith in Christ Jesus.

Bishop Torto gave the admonition during the Easter Sunday Divine Service at the Anglican Cathedral Church of the Most Holy Trinity in Accra.

He noted that when Christians lived lives grounded in the Word, they were able to overcome challenges, regardless of the circumstances they faced.

Quoting Proverbs 3:5, the Bishop urged the congregation to trust in the Lord at all times and not rely on their own understanding.

“Everything you do should be firmly grounded in the Word and in faith in the Lord. It is through this that your faith will be strengthened,” he said.

“The Word of the Lord will guide and direct your path. God will lead you through life’s journey in alignment with His purpose for your life,” he added.

The congregation, clad in white, marked the occasion in commemoration of the resurrection of Jesus Christ and His victory over death.

They prayed, sang hymns and praise songs, dancing in celebration of Christ’s resurrection.

The service followed the Anglican sacred Triduum, a three-day solemn observance from sunset on Maundy Thursday to sunset on Easter Sunday, commemorating the passion, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Though spanning three days, the Triduum is regarded as one continuous service, often without a formal dismissal until the conclusion of the Easter Vigil.
