Mr. Alfred Myanko, Vice Chairman of the youth Association condemned the action of the perpetrators, saying, “We condemn the action of the perpetrators in no uncertain terms. We see this as an act of hooliganism and flagrant disregard for the rule of law.”

He appealed to the Judicial Service and the Inspector General of Police to reconsider the closure of the court and police station and called for inclusive dialogue in resolving the situation.

Mr Nyarko mentioned the anxiety caused to the communities by the closure of the two institutions, saying “Barely 24 hours after the closure, people were now beginning to live in fear and panic because some section of the people have taken the law into their hands.”

He reiterated the community’s commitment to collaborating with the security agencies to ensure justice is served and normalcy restored.

Mr Nyarko said the leaders had planned to follow up with official visits to the Judicial Service and the office of the Inspector General of Police to discuss the way forward for the reopening of the institutions and stressed the critical role of these institutions in maintaining security and justice, particularly in remote districts, and underscored the community’s desire to uphold peace and the rule of law.

A member of the group, Mr. Owusu Danquah Acheampong, emphasised that the absence of the police in the area would increase insecurity, with armed robbery cases already on the rise due to inadequate police presence in the district and called for urgent action to address the situation and restore peace and stability in the area.

A mob attack by the youth on the Kwame Danso police station and district court on December 10, 2025 has led to the temporally closure of both institutions.
