The Chartered Institute of Plumbing and Heating Engineering-Ghana (CIPHE-GH), has urged women in Ghana to venture into plumbing.
According to President of the Chartered Institute, Joshua Nyamavor, plumbing is a unisex profession, thus, women are free to join.
Joshua Nyamavor also dispelled claim that plumbing is a profession for school dropouts.
”We should have the understanding that it is a job that everybody can do. Plumbing has so many aspects. A lot of times the feedback I had as in female who don’t want to do is…they want to close early and go get some domestic chores done”
”But the most important thing we should understand is that plumbing is a unisex profession. A man or woman can deliver effectively”, he advised.
The President of the Chartered Institute of Plumbing and Heating Engineering-Ghana, also stated that there are so many plumbing needs in our communities that need attention.
”When we look around, I see so many plumbing jobs left in our communities unattended to. If we have the numbers, it will be good to solve it”, he added.
Joshua Nyamavor once again encouraged women to join the profession to boost the numbers needed to solve these plumbing deficiencies.
