313 coronavirus cases confirmed in Ghana as six die

Ghana has confirmed 313 coronavirus cases as at Wednesday, April 8, 2020.

The country recorded 26 new cases to move the tally from 287 to 313.

Also, six coronavirus patients have lost their lives according to the Ghana Health Service.

The new figures come in the wake of enhanced contact tracing to identity and test people who may have contracted the virus.

The regional distribution of the cases are as follows:

Greater Accra Region has most cases (274) followed by the Ashanti Region (25), Northern Region (10), Upper West Region (1), Eastern Region (1), Upper East Region (1) and Central Region (1).

President Akufo-Addo on Sunday April 5, announced that the results of over 19,000 people to be tested will determine the fate of the lockdown in the country.

Ghana is on a lockdown from March 30 to April 13, 2020.
