Mubarak Wakaso has apologised after he blamed two main political parties in Ghana for the Black Stars’ failure to win a trophy in 38 years.

The senior national team, Black Stars, haven’t won any trophy since they last won the Africa Cup of Nations in 1982.

The Jiangsu Suning new recruit disclosed in an interview that the winner-takes-all attitude by the NPP and the NDC is having an adverse effect on the national.

He suggested this might have denied the team some luck needed in winning a title.

”I will speak the truth today. Do you know our problem about the game? Maybe we know but we don’t want to say it. But I think politics ruin the Blacks Stars at times. When NDC is in power, NPP doesn’t want us to win and vice versa,” he told Angel TV.

However, he has decided to withdraw the statement and apologised to Ghanaians. In a post on Twitter, Wakaso stated that the commentary his comments has generated forced him to apologise.

Wakaso has been capped 58 times by Black Stars, scoring 12 goals.
