MTN Ghana apologizes for failing to ensure social distancing at its Dansoman Zodiac office

MTN Ghana has apoligized to the state and Ghanaians for failing to ensure the social distancing protocol at its Dansoman Zodiac branch recently.

Communication Minister and Member of Parliament for Ablekuma West constituency Ursula Owusu-Ekuful had caused the shut down of MTN Dansoman Zodiac branch after the incident.

The MP got furious when she spotted residents failing to observe social distancing protocol in front of the MTN office.

In a video that is circulating on social media, the MP is seen fuming at the crowd that had gathered.

Ursula Owusu-Ekuful after chastising the crowd for failing to observe social distancing, proceeded to scold the MTN branch manager.

In a press release issued on Wednesday, May 6, 2020, the company apologized for the incident.

“Whilst focusing on ensuring the provision of reliable services in a safe environment, the company has taken note of the concerns raised by its sector Minister, Mrs.Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, about the sitting arrangement at the outdoor “overflowarea” of its Dansoman Zodiac Branch”

“MTN Ghana sincerely apologizes to the customers and the public for the incident. MTN has taken immediate steps to ensure the enhancement of measures already put in place to stem the dangers associated with the congregation of customers outside our service centers to prevent this situation from happening again”

MTN Ghana also promised to adhere to all health protocols outlined by health authorities.
