Pastor reportedly steals musical instruments from another church

A pastor, Matthew Osika, has been arrested for allegedly stealing musical instruments belonging to another church.

Berekum Police in the Bono Region arrested Matthew Osika after it was reported that some robbers had stolen instruments from a Methodist church.

According to reports, the said pastor stole the items in order to establish his own church.

Matthew Osika invaded the auditorium of Amankokwaa Methodist Church in the Berekum West District and made away with the instruments.

These items include organs, guitar, microphones, speakers, combos, fan and a console.

The musical instruments were later discovered in the home of the suspect who claimed he also bought them from someone.

According to a senior member of the church, Paul Asante Bonah, they had been tipped the items were in the home of the suspect so they informed the police and subsequently went to the suspect’s house where he was arrested upon seeing the instruments in his room.

In his caution statement, Matthew Osika claimed he bought the instruments from individuals to start a church but did not bother to ascertain the true ownership of the items before paying for them.

Police are conducting investigations and reveal that Mathew Osika will soon be arraigned before court on charges of conspiracy, stealing and unlawful entry.
