Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) has identified and destroyed some 802 cartons of Lucozade energy drink believed to be expired.

Head of Communication and Public Education, FDA, James Lartey, in a media address said, the Authority got wind that, a company Andiana Royal Ventures at Lapaz, was tempering with the expiry dates on some imported Lucozade energy drinks.

The Authority quickly sent officers to the said warehouse and arrested perpetrators of the act.

He said; “They have managed to change the expiring date of the product from September 2019 to September 2020. Owners of Andriana Royal Ventures are currently helping the Police in investigations.

Mr Lartey took the opportunity to caution the general public, especially consumers of Lucozade to check the expiry dates of the product before purchase.

He further went on to advise the public to be mindful of where they shop during this yuletide season.

The cartons of expired product have been set ablaze at the Kpone Landfill site.
