A burial service has held at Kasoa for Rev. Mrs. Joana Arkorful, founder of Prince of Peace Foundation Ministry. to celebrate the life of the distinguished church leader.
Rev. Mrs. Arkorful, who died on May 17, 2025, at the age of 73 after a short illness, was remembered as a woman of perseverance, faith, and selfless service.
A biography read by Mr. Kwabena Yeboah, President of the Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) and a family member, described her as a devoted teacher, entrepreneur, community leader, and mother whose life exemplified faith, humility, and service.
Born and raised in a Christian home at Akim Oda, she developed strong values of integrity, compassion, and resilience which shaped her path. Her educational journey took her from Oda Roman Catholic Primary School to St. Don Bosco Catholic Girls’ School at Winneba, Holy Child Training College, and later Oral Roberts University in the USA, where she deepened her theological knowledge.
Rev. Mrs. Arkorful’s influence extended far beyond her ministry. As an educator in Ghana and Southern Africa, she imparted not only academic knowledge but also mentored and moulded students with godly values.
Her entrepreneurial spirit led to the establishment of Joankorf Trading Enterprise, through which she supported her family, widows, orphans, and needy households, effectively combining business with ministry to impact lives.
Known for her fervent prayer life, powerful preaching, and unwavering compassion, she touched lives across Winneba, Kasoa, Akim Swedru, and Cape Coast through ministry, counselling, and acts of love.
Mr. Yeboah noted that her home became a sanctuary of hope for the needy, and her life inspired women and youth to pursue education, entrepreneurship, and Christian faith. Her legacy, he added, lives on through the many lives she touched, the church she built, and the example she set as a godly woman who lived purposefully and loved selflessly.
During the service, tributes poured in from the church, community, friends, and family, all recalling Rev. Mrs. Arkorful’s humility, dedication, and unshakable faith.
A foundation was also launched in her memory to continue the humanitarian services she rendered to the needy during her lifetime.
“We have missed you, mummy, and we will forever remember you for your dedicated and selfless services while alive,” the biography concluded.
