The Government of Ghana has expressed strong support for the 20-point Gaza peace plan proposed by former United States President Donald J. Trump.
The Government described it as a “groundbreaking” initiative aimed at ending years of conflict and human suffering in the Middle East.
In a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Friday, Ghana welcomed the proposal as a step towards halting the ongoing war, rebuilding Gaza, preventing annexation and displacement of the Palestinian people, and advancing a comprehensive peace process.
“The proposal to end the war, rebuild Gaza, prevent the annexation and displacement of the Palestinian people, and advance a comprehensive peace plan is a welcome development and a relief to the suffering civilians,” the Ministry said.
The Government further expressed optimism that the initiative would serve as a viable pathway for achieving a just, comprehensive, and lasting peace, where Israel and Palestine could co-exist side by side in security and harmony.
Ghana reiterated its readiness to engage international partners to foster dialogue and understanding in revitalising the Middle East Peace Process, urging all factions to commit to the historic peace proposal.
The Ministry reaffirmed Ghana’s long-standing position in support of global peace initiatives and multilateral efforts to end conflict and promote stability.
