GOSANET Director commends health volunteers for supporting malaria eradication in Adaklu District 

Mr Samuel Yao Atidzah, Executive Director of GOSANET Foundation, has commended health volunteers in the Adaklu district for their yeoman’s job in the fields of malaria prevention, detection and testing. 

He said their efforts also focused on promoting consistent use of the insecticide treated mosquito nets in the district.  

Mr Atidzah gave the commendation at a review meeting organised by the Foundation at Adaklu Tsriefe in the Adaklu district. 

The meeting was attended by stakeholders including the staff of the Adaklu District Health Directorate, nurses and community volunteers. 

Mr Atidzah said the volunteers over the past six months were able to visit 2,213 households on a rotational basis and also reached out to 9,478 community members through house to house education and sensitization. 

He said their efforts also yielded in the  improvement on environmental cleanliness and the early testing and treatment of malaria. 

The Executive Director encouraged the volunteers to continue with the good work they were doing,  

He entreated Assembly members, chiefs, opinion and religious leaders to give the volunteers their maximum support in the discharge of their work in the communities. 

Mr Atidzah reiterated that the Foundation as an Implementing Partner of the

would continue to promote malaria prevention and elimination interventions in the district. 

He said that would be done through community-based behaviour change communication activities. 

He also assured of the Foundation’s commitment to supporting Ghana’s vision of a malaria free nation through strong community engagement and partnership with the Adaklu District Health Directorate and NMEP.
